SHC Hard Start Relay Kit (2WD & 4WD SYNCRO)
 
If your VW occasionally treats starting the engine like a personal negotiation, the SHC Hard Start Relay Kit could be just the little upgrade it needs.
 
Designed for 2WD & 4WD VWs, this kit takes the heavy electrical load away from your ignition switch and original wiring.
 
Instead of your ignition switch having to do all the hard work, it simply tells the relay what to do — and the relay takes care of powering the starter motor. Much less drama for your ignition switch, and hopefully fewer moments of standing around wondering if today is the day your vw has decided not to play.
 
What does it do?
The kit installs between your existing starter wiring and starter motor circuit, allowing your ignition switch to control a relay rather than carrying the full starter motor load.
 
This is particularly worthwhile because many starter motor problems can actually be caused by voltage drop or tired wiring rather than the starter motor itself.
 
We’ve been testing these kits in our own rigs and vans, and after putting them through their paces, we’re happy to offer them for sale.
